Intelligent Design/Public Education Debate discussion

For those in the Utah Valley area, this may be of interest. I have a
copy of the "readings" if you'd like a copy.
-----
A discussion will be held next Thursday, September 8, on "The
Intelligent Design/Public Education Debate," from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., in
the Faculty Seminar Room (LC 243) at UVSC. The discussion will be led by Da=
vid
R. Keller, Director, Center for the Study of Ethics.

The first reading comes from TIME Magazine, and provides a general broad
overview of the issues involved with Intelligent Design/Evolution debate.
The second reading is from The New York Times by philosopher Daniel Dennett=
,
who argues that Intelligent Design theory does not meet the criteria for
real science. The third reading brings the debate home to Utah, in which
Representative Chris Buttars asserts that Intelligent Design theory ought t=
o
be taught in public schools along with Darwinian evolution.

These reading may also be obtained by emailing the Center for the Study of
Ethics at <ethics.center@uvsc.edu>.

Bring a lunch, and join what will likely turn out to be a lively discussion=
!
