"David O. McKay and the Rise of Modern Mormonism" wins awards

The University of Utah Press is proud to announce that David O. McKay
and the Rise of Modern Mormonism has received the following awards:

* Francis Armstrong Madsen Best Utah History Book Award
from the Utah State Historical Society
* The Outstanding Biography Award for 2005
from the John Whitmer Historical Association
* Turner-Bergera Best Biography Award
from the Mormon History Association
* Evans Handcart Award
from the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies at Utah State
University

David O. McKay and the Rise of Modern Mormonism is the first book to
draw upon the David O. McKay Papers at the J. Willard Marriott Library
at the University of Utah, in addition to some two hundred interviews
conducted by the authors. Gregory A. Prince and Wm. Robert Wright have
compiled a thorough history of the presidency of a much-loved prophet
who left a lasting legacy within the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. Published by the University of Utah Press in 2005,
the book is in its third printing and a fourth printing is planned for
this summer.
