"Big Love" will be back next year

Excerpts of Big News for 'Big Love': A Fifth-Season Order by DAVE ITZKOFF

The Hollywood Reporter said that the cable channel has officially ordered a fifth season of "Big Love," its hit drama about the familial entanglements of a Mormon patriarch (Bill Paxton) and his three wives (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloƫ Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin). Now in its fourth season, the show saw ratings for its premiere episode rise 49 percent over that of Season 3 and has maintained its viewership despite competition from the National Football League playoffs and the Grammy Awards. The show's creators, Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, told The Hollywood Reporter that the current season will get "deeper and darker," while Season 5 will settle "into the storytelling" and "take the temperature of the marriages."
