'The Book of Mormon' movie?

Excerpts of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's 'Book of Mormon' to become a feature film? by Scott Wampler, Examiner.com

Trey Parker and Matt Stone--are currently enjoying a tidal wave of positive reviews for their first Broadway musical, The Book of Mormon.  The show's been selling out since it opened, has wowed critics, and appears well on its way to cleaning up at this year's Tony awards.  So, how 'bout a movie version for all us peons that can't make it to NYC?  From the sound of things, it'll happen sooner rather than later.

Apparently, Parker, Stone, and Avenue Q's Robert Lopez (who also worked on The Book of Mormon) have been talking to producer Scott Rudin (The Social Network) about putting together a feature film version of their wildly successful show.
In case you aren't familiar with The Book of Mormon, here's the plot:  two Mormon missionaries are sent to Uganda in an effort to convert the locals to Mormonism.  Their relentless good-cheer and chipperness is challenged when they pair are confronted with all the apartheid, AIDS, poverty, and famine that run rampant in that country.  Can the locals be convinced to join their religion?  Will the horrors of Uganda cause the missionaries to lose their faith?  Does religion really matter?  All of these questions and more are answered in the show, which includes songs like "F--- You, God" and "Making Things Up Again".  You can probably tell just from that description if this one's up your alley.

I anxiously await its arrival to the big screen. I actually asked someone from New York about how pricey the tickets were, just in case I got lucky enough to go somehow...but now I don't have to! (hopefully)
